It would be easy for you to get hired in Kuwait or with QSI. Go on the internet and look up QSI schools. Be leary of any of the schools in Kuwait. Most have many internal problems.

I know there are limitations here in Kuwait, but they are everywhere. When I am tired of this place I will go somewhere else. I have the qualifications and the williness to do that. Do you?
Isn't the point of this forum to inform people or share experiences good or bad? I just feel people should keep it real, be honest, so others can make informed decisions regarding their career. I feel you and Miski have clouded that water with your prceptions.

By the way, I have moved on, walked out of Kuwait and into my new job. I was unemplyed less than a week. I work less than 6 miles from my house, in a middle class to upper middle class suburban area on the beach. We have NO title one programs at my school, classrooms are spacious, every student has a text book and last year I had 15 students, this year I have 17. So evidently, I do have the qualifications and the williness to do so.
Yes, I to have enjoyed my 15 years in Kuwait and 5 years in Europe but let's remember there is no democratic process in Kuwait. Some people really don't understand what the consequences of that might lead to, ie Katherine Phillips. It's easy to get caught up in the good life of Kuwait and not payattention to anyting else. I think ISR was correct when they brought attention to Katerine's problem. If gives people some insight on what could go wrong, even if the chances of that happening are slim.

I have to agree that she has the right to post opinions like anyone else does. However, her opinions are very much pro Kuwait. There are 2 Kuwaits, one for people that hold Kuwaitie passports and one for people who don't. It's like a selective democracy. My problem with Miski is that she doesn't see it or maybe doesn't realize it. Jeffofarabia when you have spent as much time as my family and I have spent in Kuwait dealing with immigrations, maids, getting licenses, and truly living on the Arab economy then you can have an informed opinion. The school shelters you from that. Just remember it's never home and your nothing more than a guest, when push comes to shove they are always right and will get their way. Jeff you don't know what it is like to have motorcycles stolen or have neighbors threaten you because your American and have absolutely no help from the embassy or the police. So get off your #@%&@$% high horse. On the positive side it makes you a stronger and better person.

If it were me I would have gone public but it was not. For some people standing up for themselves is hard and a bit scary. It was one of the American schools and she no longer works there. She has moved to a bilinqual school so hopefully she will be able to express herself as she sees fit.

At the school I worked in Kuwait only the Arabic staff was allowed to wear hijab. A teacher was hired from the states, so she was overseas hired, to teach second grade. At that time she had been practising Islam for about 13 years. She gets to Kuwait and wanted to wear a hijab, well the owner and director told her no. I was quite surprised at that one which made me want to cover my head just to spite them.

I think Kuwait should make the move to hiring Kuwaities as principals and put them in other admin spaces. The more self sufficient Kuwait is as a country the less they have to rely on others. Look at the UK and the US, do we have foriegn nationals on contract as principals? If they hold green cards, yes they will hold those positions. However, Kuwait looks outside of their country for others to hold those positions when I am sure they have qualified people that could do those jobs inside of Kuwait. Kuwait needs a functioning working class.

Well let's not be to harsh, you did Marry a bedioun and help spawn his demon seed so you have accomplished something maybe not for the benefit of the world but it counts.
(written by Tre')

To begin with that was not a racist comment, a sacastic comment yes. You said your health is the reason you use this forum. Get therapy. You're a bitter person happy or not. I will write this again, I do not and have never had a problem with the people of Kuwait or the US both places have their problems. But I would not pull you out of a burning house Miski and refuse to go back and forth with you in this forum. It is below me and I have more class than that.

Sincerely,

Kelly Boone
edited sorry there were some error
(THE THIRD BOY) I find it really funny how you name the things you have and nothing that you have accomplished in your life. Well lets not be to harsh, you did Marry a Bedouin and help spawn his demon seed so you have accomplished something maybe not for the benefit of the world but it counts. I really feel sorry for you :( because relying on these threads seem to be the highlight of your day. You know your perfect Kuwait does have T.V. networks that would probably entertain you more then this. (Showetime-Orbit!) Let me guess you got both and more. Like that is a surprise. You?re a weak person; you gave up on your life and culture by adopting your husbands because it?s easier then actually earning something on your own. Well unlike you, I will never stop achieving no matter how rich I am, people like you just remind me how important it is not to give up.
Sorry Honey Kuwait has problems, it?s corrupt and even you know this. Does WASTA ring a bell? Any country that uses the idea of WASTA, as a part of life, is corrupt. Well if you?re ever up before noon you will be able to see the enslaved street cleaners that fight the heat every day so "YOUR KUWAITI PEOPLE" can poop on them the rest of their life. Trust me you wouldn't dare to step in their shoes. HMMM and how come the temp in Kuwait on the national clock never reaches 50 C but the ones inside the car's do? I'll tell ya. See if the national clock reaches 50 C workers aren't suppose to work outside, but most of you greedy KUWAITI'S can't stand the idea of losing a penny for the sake of a slave. YES THEY ARE SLAVES... Well maybe more like indentured servants. Most of the male youth you have in "your country" have no manners eating like pigs, treating women like dogs, fighting every minute they get, never giving to the poor, Torturing street animals, and taking advantage of any Asian or South Asian they can. So keep teaching your kids these great rules of humanity and see how long "your country" will survive.

So SING your Song and dance, SING IT LOUD, about how much money you have because your wealth is your ignorance.

P.S Do you know where your husband is?

Pardon my typing error, but it is spelled Delaware not DelAware. I'm not involved with the KKK, where did that come from?? I have noticed in areas where I have made a point you totally ignore it. For example, being so pretentious as to think anyones cares about what you have. Yes, I do feel sorry for my friends who are married to Kuwaities. You might not realize this but I'm not young, I spent 13 years in Kuwait. I have seen these women go from happy to sad. Here's a hint do you really know what goes on at diwaniya?? Probably not, your young still wet behind the ears, and you obviously need a hooby with so much time spent here. Believe me my family laughs at you but then I live in a house of adults who don't need my constant attention like your 3 year old does yours. The maid should be able to give her the mommy time you deny her by spending time here. Really who gives a flying flip about what you think or me either. You amuse me. Time up you got my 5 minutes for the day. Go bother someone else.

and your maids raise your kids, you live in a place the size of Deleware, free medical at a goverment hospital that I wouldn't take an animal to, blah, blah , blah. I feel sorry for you as I do many other women stuck in Kuwait. I wouldn't be so pretentious as to list what I have. When it is all said and done, it's not what a person has that counts, it's who they are. I believe the Quran teaches that.

Miski, you're out of your league. Nothing was lost in translation believe me. You're the one stuck in the bowels of hell, not me. By the way regarding comments made about teaching salaries. No one is going to get rich on a teaching salary in Kuwait. I realize by previous post yoou're so afraid someone is going to get something you don't.
