Re: International Qualification for Headship (NPQH)

My experience so far (from a teacher's perspective), is that most of the heads of school I've had had either an Ed.D. degree, a M.Ed. in leadership, or either of these plus something like the certificate from the PTC. This last one seems to be, at least in my opinion, as a provider of some seriously...

Re: Vaccine info in CV?

Honestly, it's all guesses here, but I for one would not be surprised if this becomes relatively standard. The fact is that this might end up being considered as either a requirement or a plus in terms of immigration and work permit policies in some countries. It could be that this ends up affecting...

Re: PGCEi to license for new US citizen and teacher at US independent school

I just recently posted my experience (not the same, but similar to yours) here: https://internationalschoolsreview.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7775 In short: If you try to do the CT route, they will most likely ask you to complete a series of credits in things like US History, Arts...

Re: 32K - Average Salary for International Teachers?

There's no source for his made-up number. He will keep replying things that will vary from distracting that specific fact (that he cannot provide a specific source for s number he stated as s fact) to entirely unrelated statements to distract from this. He will keep doing this until you give up, as ...

Re: Getting a teaching license - my personal experience

For example? Again, I'm trying to be practical and down to earth. Having special specific examples would be great. If you don't have any, it's fine. As I tell my students, saying"I don't know" can be a valid reply in some situations If you have also a suggested CLEP for US history, which i...

Re: Getting a teaching license - my personal experience

Sorry PsyGuy, I know you never accept an error, but saying "such as UPe" is not correct, because regionally accredited universities are NOT "like UPe". At the time of this post, UPe is not "like" regionally accredited colleges, because, well, it's not. As I mentioned on...

Re: Which state offers a teaching license to a PGCEi holder?

I am sure there are some that fall in those categories you mention. I would be curious as to what percentage out to of people interested in NACES evaluations they would represent though. But yes PsyGuys, you are correct in that there are some non US teachers who study in the US and some US teachers ...

Re: Getting a teaching license - my personal experience

UoPeople is not regionally accredited (yet). Thus, taking CLEPS and adding them to their transcript would not be acceptable towards meeting the CT requirements I mentioned.

Re: Which state offers a teaching license to a PGCEi holder?

Yes, my post referred to non US applicants, totally agree. There are exceptions, but it is Non US applicants who are concerned about NACES evaluations given...well, the fact they are not US graduates.

Re: Getting a teaching license - my personal experience

Thanks for complementing. I tried to be practical and down to earth, but I guess it's good to have.... Well...your "style" legalese(I think there was some overlap but that was expected, I guess). About CT: they don't accept CLEP. They clearly and explicitly told me they only accept credits...

Re: Which state offers a teaching license to a PGCEi holder?

Good for them.
And I am happy you recognise I can disagree. I would love to see a state listing they accept NACES approved evaluators, but prefer only some of them, I haven't seen this.

As mentioned earlier, most common pathways mentioned in this forum for non Americans would take SPANTRAN.

Re: Which state offers a teaching license to a PGCEi holder?

I disagree with your last statement. Most states accept any evaluator as long as it is NACES accredited. Since SPANTRAN is NACES accredited, it would be accepted just like WES. There may be s couple of exceptions, but for the most part, it works just as well. Works for HI, CT, MA which are the most ...

Getting a teaching license - my personal experience

Every now and then people seem to ask the same questions (myself included). I would like to share my personal experience with several of the processes that have been suggested here before while trying to get a teaching license. I learned a lot in the process, so I will share as much as possible so t...

Sure. Actually, I've been meaning to make a post in the main forum with my experience, in case it's useful for others. Expect it in a few minutes (probably there by the time you read this).

Re: Which state offers a teaching license to a PGCEi holder?

Curious about this. If a NACES evaluation were to find his PGCEi equivalent to teacher training within a specific age range and field, would the OP not be able to get a HI license? Not all NACES evaluation services are equal. Speaking from personal experience, I have seen different NACES evaluators ...
