Chiang Rai International School, Thailand

Post by TeacherInThailand »

Does anyone know much about this school?

They have a bunch of open positions posted online right now... which actually concerns me a bit if there's a really high turnover rate.

Ahhh... I guess I'll have to give in and become a paid member then. LOL

I'm working in Thailand now and know that Chiang Rai is a nice town. But I would want to find out what's going on before working at a school if there's so many openings.

I left in the middle of the school year last year. So did other people. Pay is very low (1700US a month). You have to pay for housing and airfare. When you arrive, you are put on probation for 3 month and administration holds it over you. You do not get health insurance until you pass the probation.

If you look at the school's page, you will see that there are 6 elementary school teachers. Only 2 of the 6 has been there since the start of the academic year. 4 people left for various reasons.

Stay away! As nice as Thailand is, CRIS is not a real school.
