DO NOT EVALUATE SCHOOLS ON THE ISR FORUM!

Post by adminpaul »

Thank you for your questions and comments.
We will attempt to clarify our position on posting to the ISR Forum.

* FORUM CONDUCT:
As a community of International Educators we should all be supporting and helping each other to reach our goals. Instead, some posters choose to stand off to the sidelines and fire off derogatory, belittling attacks at other posters. Sexist, racist, degrading, harassing, abusive, threatening, vulgar and slanderous comments are not permitted in any feature of the ISR Web Site. This, of course, includes the Forum. We reserve the right to ban, without warning, any user that fails to abide by this rule.

DISCUSSING SCHOOLS ON THE FORUM:
Ultimately, ISR is responsible for comments posted to this Forum. We assume the entire brunt of letters and actions directed at us by school owners, admin and attorneys in regards to Forum posts and every venue associated with ISR. We see absolutely no reason to stick our neck out for posters whose agenda is to bash schools and admin, using ISR as a shield to hide behind. We suspect some of these users do so with the sole intent to discredit ISR. Any such posts will result in immediate sanctions without warning.

A good guideline for posting to the Forum is this: Put your first and last name at the top of the comment box and then begin to write. When you are finished, decide if you would click the “Submit” button with your name attached. If you would not want to take responsibility for your comments, we don't want to either. When your comments are such that you would be willing to stand up for them, remove your name and submit your post. If you consider this a restriction on your personal free speech, then go someplace else or start your own forum. ISR is not the personal playpen for people with agendas.

* WE ASK THAT YOU NOT EVALUATE SCHOOLS ON THE FORUM:
There is a vast difference between telling other Forum users a.) You like/dislike a school, and (b.) Composing what ISR considers a school evaluation/Review.

HERE is an example of an acceptable Forum conversation:

_______ is not a bad school…they have really come a long ways in the last few years. Have a friend there now (1st year there) and they really love it.

Any specific questions you have?

Salaries are fair…3000+ after tax and they give brand new housing on-site...first job abroad or relatively inexperienced, I’d say go for it. For a seasoned veteran, I’d say you can find better.

HERE is an example of the type of material we consider to be a Review and, thus, belongs in the Members’ Area of the site, NOT on the Forum:

Administration, including the head teacher, CEO and advisor, use bullying techniques when dealing with teachers. They DO shout at teachers and teachers DO leave the offices upset or angry at times. They mainly target teachers who they think are stuck at the school. Administration does almost everything verbally so there is no paper trail of what has been said. They are NOT trustable and are very nasty, spiteful people who hold grudges. They have favorites and are not consistent in the way they deal with staff members.

* IN SUMMARY, if you are not sure that what you are posting falls into the category of being a school evaluation/Review or not, do NOT post it to the Forum.

* Note: You do not need to be an ISR Member to post School Reviews to the Members’ Area. Clicking the “Send a Review” link (on every page of the non-Members’ Area) will take you to school evaluation/Review forms identical to those found in the Members’ Area of ISR.

Private messaging is available on these boards.
