Tieonline resume bank

I'm curious whether anyone has been offered a job after posting their resume on tieonline?

A couple of schools have contacted me through the resume bank, but not places I would want to work. I am certified but with little experience, so they were obviously struggling to find staff.

Markholmes- Thanks for replying. I suspected that only the schools desperate for teachers would contact teachers through the resume bank. Thanks for confirming what I thought.

I have a friend who was hired as PYP Coordinator and Reading Specialist at a school in Japan from her resume at Tie. Although her contract was ending she wasn't actively looking for a new school. The resume bank definitely worked for her.

I was hired for my present job through TIE and the resume that I had sent to my school through them. The school called me from the Search Associates fair in Bangkok to see if I was interested in a job with them. We did a telephone interview and I was hired while in my home in Texas by the school head who was at the fair. I have also had one job offer this year via the same method. I have attended UNI and Search in the past and gotten jobs from both but in my experience, the resume and contacting of schools via TIE has been equaly effective and much less expensive.

How is it going with TIE right now? Are people getting contacted by schools? Has anyone accepted a job recently (this recruiting season), with just using the TIE web site? Do you think schools are more likely to use TIE after the fairs are over?

The schools that have contacted me through TIE have been lower tier (IMHO)- and I think were 'trolling' for teachers. They were contacting me for jobs that I was probably not the most qualified for.

I have had more success with an online cv/resume on a website that I put up. By adding a page counter/site info tool (Google An*a*lytics - have to put * in cause it's got a bad word in it....) I'm able to see when and which cities pull up my resume, and what information they are most interested in. I've got both my wife and my resumes up, with info on our kids as well. The closer to the job fair, the more hits we get. The hits also correspond to the jobs I'm applying for.

I wish TIE would give you information like that- maybe how many people are looking at your resume- or the activity on your account.

Is you CV on a web site or blog site you created? If so,how are schools finding you? Are you emailing schools and sending them your web address? Or are you using a different service? Thanks for the info

On my site I have a page each for both my wife's and my CV. I also have download links to .pdf copies. I've also included additional information pertaining to my job and project I've worked on, a short bio of my kids, as well as a Contact form and our email/skype info.

I registered a domain for us ($7.50 per year) and got a cheap hosting plan ($12.95 per year).

I put our URL on my resume that I send to schools, as well as any email I send as well.

We're also working on a YouTube movie to insert into our page as well.

It's an easy way to give someone an interesting and broad understanding of who you are.

I do not have my resume on TIE. However, I sent my paperwork to many schools from TIE. I did have skype interviews and job offers because of it. I had as many skype interviews before UNI as I had at UNI. I went to UNI because I had already registered.

I think TIE is an effective technique for getting a job as well.

Thats good news. Glad to hear you were getting job offers. Did you have to contact a lot of schools? We've been sending out our info, but have heard nothing. We are already overseas teaching and are certified too. We've been sending a letter, CV's, photo, contact info, and references. I'm discouraged, but glad to know it's working out for you. Do you have some suggestions to help improve our chances?

Be proactive! My wife and I started to call schools directly, and as result, we have three skype interviews this week (two of the schools at currently at a job fair).

I missed all the job fairs this winter because I wasn't sure if I wanted to head overseas. In March I put my resume up on TIE Online and a month later ended up with a job and two other offers I had to turn down. Two of the schools that contacted me were very good schools with excellent reputations. I've also emailed schools directly before - and had success with that. But I think TIE works well....and its a cheap alternative to the job fairs.

I'm registered with them now. I use their features, but I'm only be contacted by 3 schools, two of them telling me they were not interested! Has anyone else had any luck?
